Here in Catalonia, yesterday was all national flags, overpriced roses and books about shadows and wind (still). Apparently half the yearly book sales take place on st. jordi. I lost count of the number of incredulous catalan youth yesterday who refused to believe that st. jordi was moonlighting as another nation’s saint. Like Canneloni and snails, they like to think of him as ‘nomes per nosaltres’. Bless ‘em.

I on the other hand will be making a fuss but celebrating about making a fuss. Just quietly fussing.
